Églantine the ageless black beauty

  • June 24, 2015

Eglantine ia a Citroën Traction-Avant 11B, or « 11 Normale », which left the Quai de Javel factory in Paris on 17 January 1955. Her first owner was Mr. Maujean in Saint-Brice, near Reims. At the end of the 1960’s, her companion having passed away, she was stored at the back of a garage for twenty years, waiting for a good soul to wake her from her sleep. In the beginning of the 1990’s, she was repainted anew, received new seats of the same quality and got an overall revision. After two years, she moved to Charleville-Mézières and then to Noyon and finally to Compiègne in 2002.

The Traction-avant represents modernity and grace before its time. A classic car enthusiast, and with the help of my « tractionniste » friends, I discovered this rare bird in October 2007: Eglantine, this magnificent 1955 Traction-Avant 11B.

Since then, I have been more than 25000 km at her wheel, driving on the roads of the Nord Pas-de-Calais department, even going on vacation to Brittany in glee and reliability.

Églantine is the founder of the La Traction Parisienne collection. Since then, four jewels have joined the collection, to write the golden book of our dream rides.
